1800s

General John F. Miller, a distinguished Union Civil War General began purchasing Rancho Yajome, what is today the 1,200 Acre Silverado property. Mrs. Miller designed the mansion in a French and Italian architectural style.

1932

The property had been in the Miller Family for 63 years, when it was sold to Mrs. Vesta Peak Maxwell. She made a few changes to the Mansion, replacing the portico with the porch with stunning pillars that we see today.

1953

Pat Markovich and the Silverado Land Company purchased the property in May 1953 and Silverado Country Club was born. Robert Louis Stevenson's "The Silverado Squatters" novel was Pat Markovich's inspiration for naming the property "Silverado." Markovich's vision for the property was more than just a golf course; a way of life.

1955

Silverado golf course opened, designed by Ben Harmon to meet Pat Markovich's objective: a course to satisfy the average golfer but long enough to test the abilities of the better golfer.

1960s

After being sold to Westgate Factors Ltd in 1966, Silverado Country Club and Resort officially opened in 1967, featuring two 18-hole golf courses, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. Silverado hosted its first PGA tournament, the Kaiser International Golf Tournament, from 1968 through 1976.

1989

SIlverado Country Club and Resort was sold to Mr. Isao Okawa with the commitment to make Silverado "a place where international leaders can meet and work together to promote greater friendship, understanding and world peace."

1990s

The Member Clubhouse was completed and the Spa, with 25 meter pool, opened.

2010

Silverado Resort Investment Group LLC purchased the Country Club and Resort and appointed Dolce and Troon to manage the resort and golf club.

Today

Silverado was acquired in a join venture between KSL Capital Partners, LLC (KSL) and Arcade Capital LLC on February 1, 2022.
