1800s

General John F. Miller, a distinguished Union Civil War General began purchasing Rancho Yajome, what is today the 1,200 Acre Silverado property.

Mrs. Miller designed the mansion in a French and Italian architectural style. The mansion featured 14 rooms, the most prominent being the great living room, which today our members and guests enjoy as the Mansion Lounge.

General Miller died, leaving the mansion and property to his daughter, who hosted many distinguished guests, including President Theodore Roosevelt.
