How it works: 

For those unfamiliar with Quiz Night, here's how it works: A rotating slate of Quizmasters devises 30 questions plus a bonus, about the number of questions in a Jeopardy! round. The range of questions is truly eclectic (geek-speak for "all over the lot"), bounded only by the Quizmaster's imagination. Participants are randomly assigned to table of five or six players, who play as a team and need to arrive at a consensus answer to each question. The team with fewest incorrect answers is declared the winner, earning only bragging rights, since the $5 buy-in fee is given as a tip to the staff who serves everyone in the game. The total investment of time averages about 1 1/4 hours, after which about half the players repair to the Grill for dinner. 

The real point of the game is the social experience. You definitely do not need to be a brainiac to be part of this game, and the skill level of the participant is, once again, all over the lot. The small-group format assures that no one is going to risk public embarrassment, and our experience over a long period of time is that everyone knows things that no one else knows. You will be immediately accepted without needing to prove anything to anyone.
